Keep your font type simple on your website. Arial or Times New Roman is perfect for any website. You don’t need to get carried away with bubble letters or illegible chicken wings. Exotic fonts might seem cool to you, but your visitors are going to have a tough time reading your site.

Build your website using a content management system. Knowing how to build a website using just HTML and CSS is good foundation knowledge, but this can only produce a static website. Web design has evolved into providing dynamic content. If you couple your coding skills with the use of a content management system, you can practically build any type of website that you desire.

Use a style sheet to stay consistent. There is almost nothing more disconcerting than being sent to a page that looks at nothing like the site you were just looking at, even if it is concerning the same subject. Style sheets help with saving your formatting, so each page looks similar to the rest.

When designing a website, seek out your target audience, and poll or ask people what they would like to see in a site. This can help you with the design as well as the many features available on your site. Advice from what your target audience wants to see is pertinent to the design of your site.

Place your logo at the top of each of your web pages. It is an easy way to link all your pages together and make your site one coherent entity. In addition, it creates brand recognition for site visitors. Use a logo that encompasses what your company is all about. Build A Website

  1. The "free" images may still be copyrighted, but you have a license to use them for limited uses that may not include republication on your own blog.

Copyright infringement does not require any proof that you are "trying to sell anything", only that you have violated the copyright exclusive rights to make copies, publish, distribute, perform publicly, and make derivative works of their copyrighted works. You will either need a license (Y!A has a license to publish what I am typing right now) or be able to prove one or more statutory exemptions as your defense when (if) you are sued by any copyright owner.

If you qualify as an "internet service provider", publishing works produced by others, you could benefit from familiarity with the "Safe Harbor" provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), including the requirement to have a simple way for copyright owners to notify you of their complaints and a procedure for quick removal of the allegedly infringing works.

  2. Your disclaimer saying that you intend to infringe…. …. but then you go ahead and do it anyway
Its very polite but I think it changes anything

    Personally I worry
Though you are probably in breach of copyright, the chances of a problem are vanishingly small the chances of a problem that be fixed are even smaller. Your approach and intentions seem totally reasonable and no reputable company would want to an of you. It would cause them far more harm than good

All the posturing about imprisoning people or fining people is BS and would be politically impossible to enforce for minor infringements

Although I must caution that some companies' can be outrageous in terms of demanding money if they detect copyright material on your site. Its all bluff – either ignore them (best option) or ask them to prove their case after which you will give it the consideration it deserves (none)

  3. say that would be fine… usually, as long as not making money or saying bad things about the company, they wont mind. Even if they did, usually, they would precede any action with a request that you take down their images.

  4. Do a google search for Kevin Macleod (I think thats how you speel it).
He does royalty free stuff for download, and some of it is quite good.

  5. well, you could take the code down until you get paid, but you could also take them to a small claims or something, I would imagine.

But if they pay, they have your service, right?

  6. Try Weebly or Jimdo. They both have free platform with options to upgrade. It depends on what of website you are trying to build.

If you are looking to build an e-commerce site, I would suggest Jimdo as they have a more powerful shopping function than Weebly.

But if only looking to put together a very quick website without e-commerce function, Weebly is very easy to use.

some review notes on them –

    Cheers.

  7. So far I have only found "webeden" where you are allowed to create a free site using adult pictures and content in their terms and conditions. Their only real condition is that the first page on your site (prior to your homepage) is a clear warning of the content inside.

If you want to use their site search, you will find mine under seymours site

    Good luck with your site
